Jus’ one o’ many bars from my man KierkeGAARD
“Conventional wisdom aims presumptuously to introduce into the world of spirit that same law of indifference under which the outside world groans. It believes it is enough to have knowledge of large truths. No other work is necessary. But then it does not get bread, it starves to death while everything is transformed into gold.”

So far pretty interesting.
The guy published under an alias (Johannes de silentio). Apparently didn’t like the philosophers of his day who believed doubt was a simple intellectual exercise and faith an easily abandoned, outdated convention.
Kierkegaard is fascinated and haunted by the story in which God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son. He begins by retelling this story, wondering at all the text leaves unsaid.
