Status Updates From Worlds Apart

Hmmm...usually Barbara's stories really interest me, but it appears I started this a while back and haven't bothered to pick it up again in a few weeks. Putting it back for now...

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here.

Taylor is an asshole of epic proportions, Niall is an enigma & Roo is a hot mess...a hilariously relatable one, but still. MESS.

I probably should have (re?)read the summary but since I reset my Kindle it synced all out of order & this book I bought years ago - one I wouldn't have chosen if it weren't MMF - came up on the carousel.

So...this should be interesting.

The first appearance of the terrifying b-word.

Two guys live together and one of them bakes so they're obviously gay? WTF.

To be honest, not the greatest start. I kind of hate all the characters - Taylor for being so in denial about being queer, Niall for being manipulative, Roo for being so over-the-top and a little bit TSTL. And the attempts at UST are laying it on a little thick, in my opinion.

That fantasy element snuck up on me in a totally believable, surprisingly realistic way. Elsborg is making believe in this throuple, and how. Also, I just realized A. M. Arthur's Fractured Hymn is out, and I wanted to immediately drop everything and go and read that (love her style!!), but this story is just that good that I will finish it first!

So steamy.

Such a nice book. Why have I not read this author before?

I'm liking the story so far even thought I'm a bit frustrated right now. I can't figure out what the deal with Niall is.

Roo is a riot. Her mind goes 90 million miles an hour and it all just comes flowing out her mouth!

Now i like it better. :)
