Really readable, good moments, dialogue is great, but feel like everyone is just farting around now. Tired of the same locations. I enjoy the subdued sexual tension, even if it’s just a little bland.

not really connecting to the characters. why is the nearly forty year old absentee father setting shit on fire? it’s refreshing to see the accuracy of a hero and his bad decisions without much forethought though, but you might throw in an STD while you’re at it. heroine is… there. does stuff. I think my girl Rosalyn and the dead guy Henry are more interesting by far.

I wonder what’s in this box? I also wonder why Graham and Submit never met. Odd, I might say.

1) Loved the opening with “The truth is frequently ambiguous, but it is still more dependable than a lie.”
2) I hate that back in 1858 you couldn’t prove you didn’t have sexual relations with people. How are you gonna walk yourself into a gentleman’s club and accuse a man of being the father of your twins? He didn’t even know her.

I do really feel for Graham, he is still kind of fucking himself in the ass with learned helplessness.

"Could a woman he could barely see be sultry across fourty feet of grass, as she spoke to a lawyer on a walk at an Inn of Court?
"...yes she could..."
"...How had bookish, prudish old Henry come up with a sultry bride?"
Graham we just got a play by play of you driving yourself insane.
