Touching, funny stories, quirky characters. All the human feelings. This author had a gift. I love when someone takes you to a place and time where you've never been and makes you a resident!

These stories, in both English and Spanish, side by side, are of the part of the world part of my family is from and were probably told many times over the years as stories that Sabine Ulibarri, a neighbor, put together into this book. I'm enjoying them all.

Ulibarrí has collected a bunch of stories told and retold, mostly in Spanish, from Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. Since the book is in both Spanish and English, it's great to read it in both languages. Sometimes the English doesn't fully carry the original humor or nuance, but that's typical in translations, no matter how good they are. I'm enjoying it, as I read a different story when the mood strikes me.

The story of El Relleno de dios had me laughing. Great stories. I read one every now and then.
