What will it be like for the poor ones who are in hell? Never will there be any change at all, for even a change from one trial to another brings with it some relief. It has happened to me that when after suffering from very severe pain in one place I experienced other pain elsewhere, the change seemed to provide some relief even though the pain was just as great; so it was in this instance.

It is good to read Sts. Teresa and John of the Cross together for where John tells us nada, nada, nada and always choose the harder, Teresa urges moderation and common sense and even gives examples of what can happen when good-hearted nuns proceeded-in the spirit of strict obedience-to follow their prioresses exactly or the prioresses tried to lead convents by their own inclinations instead of by the Rule.

It’s a pretty good book. It is my second time reading The Book of Her Foundations, but the first time reading the study guide.
