Philosophy is an act, of which the fabulations about “truth” are the clothing, the propaganda, the lies.

The lengthy introduction to this volume was quite good, clearly laying out the stakes and core issues of Badiou's argument. So far Badiou has written very clearly as to what he believes anti-philosophy to be (although slightly differently than in his book on Lacan) and why he believes Wittgenstein falls into this category. I am finding that my impression of Wittgenstein has most likely been wrong all these years.

Eventually we will hopefully get an English translation of Badiou's year long seminar on Wittgenstein, and if it's anywhere near as interesting as his seminar on Lacan it will be worth the wait. Until then, we have this. Still deep into Bosteels's introduction, but already sending my mind in many fruitful directions of contemplation. The philosophy v sophistry v anti-philosophy triad merits much more thought...
