Unless the raccoon is her familiar and talks, it should not be in the cafe. It's really hard to ignore that; it's taking me out of the rest of the story.

The writing definitely has its flaws here and there such as too much exposition in dialogue and a less natural feeling narrative voice with the constant explaining of the world, but I am super hooked into this mystery plot

this book choice was entirely unserious, i don't read this type of book usually but it was on vinted for super cheap and it had a raccoon on the cover and was about a witch so i just had to buy it and see what i think
