Borges is **the** writer of the imagination, in that he treats everything - the Arabian nights, spinoza's philosophy, new fantasy novels, mathematical treatises, the kabbalah - in the same way: as works of creative imagination that create their own universes and duplicate ours. I get more excitement towards literature from Borges than anyone else- it's already bc of him that I'm getting into Flaubert, Chesterton etc
