I think I may have come into this book anticipating a different target audience. I thought it was going to be very targeted at the married — particularly the recently married — but it actually seems like it’s more a collection of essays with different audiences. Some for the unmarried, some for the broader church, and some for the married.

Being “ever defeated in receiving” is an oddly familiar experience described so eloquently.
