Status Updates From The Coquette and the Thane

Hmm, I begin to suspect that the mpreg part of the story won't happen in this novel but in the sequel which is on hiatus. And so I'm rethinking whether or not to commit time to read 200k of words when the sequel is so uncertain. It is a very well written story of course. But since I'm in reading this partly because of the mpreg, may as well wait to know what will happen to the sequel before continuing on reading.

2 things that attracted me to this story: the promise of mpreg and that amazing book cover. *sigh* Trully, I'm a sucker for simple but attractive cover and this one had an added appeal: it's very sexy and romantic. I'm so drawn like a moth to a flame. And so far, the story is not disappointing. There is a dose of evilness, not sure how big it will be yet. And there's adventure!!! Woot. Tic off all my favs.

Brilliant!

This has yet to grab me. The prose is violet-hued and the MCs are emotionally flat cardboard cutouts that have long, boring conversations and no chemistry.
