Haruhi is annoying. The book is filled with sexist remarks about women. But the story is interesting and engaging.

Rereading the first Haruhi novel in preparation for Tanabata. The first pages were a bit of a drag due to Kyon’s slightly pretentious monologues but once Haruhi appears the story became more interesting. Haruhi is a b**ch and a half but she’s hella entertaining, especially in her dynamic with Kyon constantly bickering with each other.
