Status Updates From Christmas Rescue at Mustang...

Sometimes I wonder what’s the faces I make when I’m reading look like, especially when I dislike something.
The hero’s family hates the heroine but isn’t “villains” except for his dad and the hero is horrible to the heroine but she just takes it because she’s been in love with him since she was 15. Ugh

It should literally end right here with her letter.
It would be a much better book if it did.
None of them except Sunny deserve Maggie in their lives.
Even Jake at this point in the book still “doesn’t know how he feels about her”.

There is just too much in this book, I literally rolled my eyes when as their being hunted/run off the road their told to get to the hospital AGAIN (!) for a different reason in less than half an hour.
I can’t believe this is a Delores Fossen book.

Even if you were in love with someone who considered you and everything they did with you, kissing, feelings, being around you a “mistake” why would you want to be with them when multiple people in their immediate family literally hate you and one has threatened to kill you even going so far as to talk to a convicted killer about it? Your children would never be accepted/loved. Why put anyone through that?

So he loved his wife, misses her, hates her sister who he blames for her death, then we learn he originally saw himself with the sister long term but she went off to the city and he knocked up the other one so he married her not because of any great love but just because, but then he’s back to pining for his dead wife again.
I wish the author would decide was this some great love or not.

I’m not really buying this he hates her guts and blames her for everything bad in his life then is suddenly turned on by her because he remember she’s the one he was originally attracted to.
Makes him seem even more douchey. Yeah let’s blame her for your emotions dude.

I’m not sure how I feel about our “hero” Jake. He seem a bit like a jerk but not in the typical alpha-jerk ways though it may turn out that way.
Already you can tell she’s carrying guilt that she’s not truly guilty of and EVERYONE blames her because the bad guy who is literally locked up for life said so.
