Status Updates From Steampunk III: Steampunk Re...

Skipped the last three fiction pieces in the anthology and just finished the first two nonfiction. And I gotta say. I think the first author might have completely missed the point of steampunk, and to an extent so did the second one I think. IMO they fall into the trap of focusing on the “steam” part of the whole word, when really they should focus on the “punk” part

Whoops I had the spelling wrong. It is not in fact the ethnic slur used in this book

Finding this one better, except for the one story that used a certain ethnic slur of South Africa (which was still good, I’m just not sure the author of that particular one is aware of the fact of the slur)

“White Fungus” turned out to be a not so amazing final fiction story in this collection. Now I just have a few nonfiction things.

I guess I'll say that I like the vocabulary of "Peace in Our Time" by Garth Nix.

"Goggles" is my first sample of Caitlin Kiernan's work, which I'll be reading more of in the near future.

"Smoke City" by Christopher Barzak might be relatable to some who, despite perhaps wanting to be parents, are not sure if it is safe at the moment to bring a child into the world yet.
