Normally I would be sobbing in a book like this but so far I've barely choked up. Just not feeling this one tonight.

This is not quite working for me. The story feels jumbled, with the telling going back and forth. The violent sex scene is also not what I want to read. Guess I need my good guys to be good.

Bodi shook his head. "Better things, Petey. Better people. You were supposed to shoot for the moon."

"I want to fix you", "let me fix you again", "I want to take care of you" - Bodi is neither a terminally ill dog, nor a charity case. This is annoying. And not a love story in my book. Uncounted "I love you's" don't change that.

I quite dislike the onset here. Peter always emphasizes on the fact that he "wants to take care of Bodi" - to me it sounds more like compassion than love. I find it more romantic and worthwhile to want someone, and not need him. But maybe that's just me.

Poignant. Yes, I cried. Of course. Cried, wept, pulled handfuls of tissue. Emotional story of love and loss. Anyone would weep buckets!

I will be sad and moved and angry and crushed, but this book has spoken to me for weeks.
