I am loving this so much after last two books where so disappointing. Ken is Patrick's new neighbor at start of book. Hanna is Ken's daughter he adopted when she was almost 3 now 6. She has leukemia and right now it has come back for second time. Ken and Patrick are finally getting active into each other after months of slowness. Patrick has done so many things they don't know about.

So, wait, Ken is not the little one’s biological dad, but then he refers to his partner by his first name and not something like “dad” to her ? Odd.

Yikes, the narrator’s voice sounds a little too old for the characters
