Yes it was Marvel Tales #126 from 1981, also had some of the others with the Shocker.

Onto the seminal Jackal clone issue #149, which I recall, having a US reprint of ( was it Marvel Tales??). Irrespective of how comic history looked back on this story, with the latter Clone Saga, I remember reading this a dozen times over and being bowled over by it age maybe ten.

Not the hugest Ross Andru fan. Some good composition but he can’t draw Aunt May for toffee

Great so far. Amazing to think Conway started writing ASM when he was 19.

conway's gone so I'm just reading the rest of this for the love of the game. the clone stuff is resolved here in a way that is super comic booky but mostly works. that final beat is the only way it could have gone truly. good arc now let me at some more peter/mj stuff

really a satisfying conclusion to this entire run. this is conway's last proper issue after all. i do want to know more about what becomes of the gwen clone. also great that they brought up the existential terror implicit in the clone situation and then peter basically makes an active choice to ignore it and live in his old reality lol

jackal wearing the bus driver face is so extra they did not need a whole bus full of civilians for this plan to work and he did not need a rubber mask he just wanted to do all that lmaooo

this was a lot of fun but i find it extremely tedious when a the events of another comic book happen mid-issue. like i don't wanna read marvel team up right now sorry

jonah's typewritten note complete with the 'stops' is genuinely so funny

I notice myself enjoying #155 very much as it was one of the first time the comedy actually hit for me.

Why did they randomly just put out the most emotional chapter ever with Dr. Bolton??? I got chills from the parallel between him playing American football and dodging bullets to save his daughter.
