THE END
Okay, now I have to write my review.
I have a lot to say about this book. Which is good, it means it wasn't boring. LOL

"Tony's right. If we could all go back to the night Michael died, each one of us would make different choices."

I'm sorry to say the heroine is very stupid.

In the end, Lucy accepted that no matter how awful she felt, how much she regretted her actions, how hard she worked to make amends for her past, there was no way to fix this. Nothing would bring Michael back.
Thomas is hard-hitting, I'll give her that.

Even though she'd told Tony that their lovemaking had meant nothing, she had hoped he'd show up at the rodeo to offer his support.
Why.

Lucy's father comes to Tony's work and says that if Tony doesn't stop his daughter from competing, he will use his power to stop Tony's transfer.

Why don't you just tell him the reason you are being such a jerk is because his mama scolded you and warned you away from him?

To his surprise and relief, Lucy had managed to make him feel clean and whole inside - not tainted with guilt.

She didn't know where Tony was because she hadn't returned any of his phone calls since the night she'd slept with him.
Really bad, immature move.

"Your father wants the best for you, as any father would, and my Tony will never be good enough. Your father would make you both miserable. In the end, you'd be pressured to leave Tony just to keep the peace in your family and my son would be devastated."
...
"You're right, Last night was a mistake. It won't happen again."... She loved Tony enough to respect Maria's wishes and not become involved with him.

"Your father will have Tony fired from his job with the border patrol if he finds out you two are sleeping together."
...
"It's not really my father interfering with Tony's transfer that you're worried about, is it?"
"I don't know what you mean?"
"You want Tony to marry a Hispanic girl."
Welp, at least they are talking about this.

Was she sure she wanted to make love to Tony when he'd already told her there was no second chance for them?
Was she sure she wanted to lie in the arms of a man who believed he'd been the cause of her brother's death?
Was she sure she wanted to be with the man she'd fallen in love with two years ago and had never stopped loving?
I would say no. At least they use a condom.

Nothing made sense. There was no rhyme or reason to the universe. People just existed - targets with bull's-eyes on their backs, waiting for the next hit life hurled at them. Was it only yesterday that he and Michael had danced with pretty girls and wrestled bulls? Now his focus was on survival - physical and mental.

"If Shannon can do it, so can I."
"Shannon's experienced and she'd not a spoiled little rich girl."
UGH. I wish he would stop repeating this. It's horrible.
1.) Is that REALLY what you think of her?! REALLY?!!? After everything you two have been through together?
2.) If that is REALLY how you see her, what does it say about YOU that you were with her for five months and are fantasizing about marrying her?

Lucy's eyes welled with tears. The collateral damage continued to add up. How would she ever make amends for all the pain she'd caused everyone?

Lucy felt as if she'd been punched in the windpipe. Evita was the pretty, dark-eyed-black-haired quintessentially Hispanic girl Maria Bravo had wanted her son to marry.

She had no claim on him. They'd once been lovers, but fate had intervened and they weren't the same people anymore.

Why was she surprised that Tony didn't believe she'd stand up to her father? Shoot, she didn't even have enough faith in herself to reveal the truth about what happened the night her brother died.
