Status Updates From An Edo Anthology: Literatur...

I'm really liking this! It starts off with the Courtesans section which is really interesting but the story they chose to put first was a good choice! There's nothing as funny as Edo Japan's sass. Especially when at one point the courtesan was talking about her sister and saying, "at thirty [she] still dressed up like a spring chicken (49)." It's too good xD

I'M DONE WITH THE INTRO!! Man was that long! It's definitely worth reading, especially if you don't have a background in East Asian Studies. I'm excited to get into the book now! I have a feeling this will be a nice way to get into Edo literature~

Trying to get through the introduction. It's really interesting and it's filling the holes of what my classes tell me, but it's just kind of long. I'm reading the intro in pieces and I'm going to start into the book! I'm excited!
