I like the way the chapter on Bond analyses him as a politically reactionary, somewhat xenophobic figure and a very mainstream role model. It sounds blindingly obvious now I type it out: he's started to seem like the aspirational archetype for consumerist men's magazines - but I hadn't thought much before about critiquing the Bond films, and I must have wanted to. It also makes me want to rewatch The Ipcress File.
