Okay, I admit, the main romance in this one is a bit underbaked. But I like so much the atmosphere in the story. I like reading about the families around these characters and seeing their perspectives. It’s fun. Especially bc I’ve read their books already! I know that style isn’t for everyone though.

While I know and love this book, I do believe that Jonathan’s comments to Cecily early on would leave me creeped out instead of intrigued.

There's one thing that the heart doesn't know , barriers the barrier of love. It doesn't look for pure bloodlines , best manners or the attractions of beauty ; it looks for the beats of the other half.
