Status Updates From Dark Priestess

Yay, story's picking up again. :) Infodumps have their place, but pacing matters more than notecards.

It's okay...but not much plot. That makes me sad, because the characters are pretty decent & deserve a more vibrant story. When stuff actually happens, it's a good book; when things slow down, it drags.

'Smiling in the dark hallway, Ki-Inanna spoke once more in her mind, her lips still but her heart beating fast: I will win you, Daman. I will use my skills & win you, & you will know, as I do, the touch of the goddess, & of fate.'

'Hammurabi absently twisted the ends of his mustache into a point as he said, "You might both have stepped from the tales of Gilgamesh."' ....So. Hammurabi makes a cameo to reference Gilgamesh in a 70s romance novel. Methinks the author was totally trolling her readers. :D

'A man's moment of passion gave up his seed & then, no matter how faithful his devotion to she who was his wife, woman's fate was her own.' ....And yet males think so highly of their peens. Pfft. ;)
