Status Updates From Sleight of Heart

Oh oh, not heading on an appealing path: fluffy, sugary, dismissive of major trauma. Insta-sex, insta-lovey. I had a fierce frown on my face in that shower scene. I can set aside disbelief for a slit throat being a seemingly minor injury(!), but I cannot abide insta- sex/love. No. If P has lived so long with abuse, why would he suddenly trust so easily? More struggling required! Shame, world/characters: basic idea <3

How can he talk so easily with a slit throat? Unless it was a mere scratch? But then, he needed stitches! I'm confused. But, because the sorry is so unusual and the fantasy community so interesting, I will set aside my disbelief about this oddity. The prose is unusual but not off putting: it's full of short sentences, pure stated emotions, and simplicity. But I like it.

I am 100% intrigued by both characters after finished the first chapter. And the pov switches were clearly, if speedily, done. Sweet.
