Status Updates From Book Fair

I've gotta give this one a little break because the incessant recapping is way too much. The last 2-3 chapters could have been edited down to about 5 paragraphs if ALL the recapping was edited out. I've read the book up until this point I know what happened.

Uh oh. 18% done and I'm having some serious misgivings. The most over-the-top mother imaginable - telling Jacob that her son Toni gives phenomenal head. And that she does too. O_O

"So then what's wrong? You're hot. He's hot. You get each other hot. When are you going to get naked and lick his cannoli?"

Mom is such a perv.

"Excuse me while I crawl under the tablecloth and try to hide," he said.

"And from what I've heard--"

"Ma! Enough!"

"--he gives phenomenal head."

Ma!

I thought the mother in the last book I read was hilarious. Antonio's mother has so got her beat. Gotta love an Italian mother.

"He's cut."

"Ma!"

"He says he's versatile, but he's mostly a bottom."

LOL!

I love this woman.

"I'm having a hard time getting into this one. The MC is juvenile, & not in an endearing way. The other MC spends a good chunk of pages being referred to as "Hunk Guy," even after significant interaction between the two. I have a hard time believing that you wouldn't offer someone your name if you're driving them to their hotel. The section with MC 2's mother was funny, but it felt like she was there for exposition.

Just like in his prior novels, the author continues his fantastic dialogue (some of the best I've ever read). It is witty and refreshingly real. I think I know where the book is headed at this point, but I still have a little doubt, so I am drawn to continue. So far -- I rate the first half of the book as terrific!
