oH man I wish Armise had fucked Merq just that. Would have been so hot!

I liked the idea behind the story, but I found the execution lacking. Merq doesn't truly progress as a character over the years. He's cocky and jaded at age 16 and he's the exact same in his thirties. Armise is interesting only because we're not in his head. Also, they never came across as mortal enemies, even though Merq keeps insisting that they are. Special Forces - Soldiers does a much better job, to be honest.

Maybe I'm being too hard on this book but I feel Merq's attitude and maturity has remained the same over the years, even though he got older. The author also does a lot of telling instead of showing. I'm still intrigued though so there's that.

I'm reading the most recent edition, but the scene transitions are still jarring, in that there is no transition. I feel like I have to orient myself every time. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if the first edition was even more confusing....

They sure hooked up fast. I'm still unclear on what brought them together, other than that they're both a side of the same coin.

Not bad. I think I would have preferred a greater detachment regarding the alignments and visions of the 20th Century and onwards, mostly from the dominant standpoint in the USA. I'll see how this aspect evolves.

Dumb Marina, veeeeeeery dumb, I began to read it without realizingt that I was reading the first edition. Today I rebought second editions for books 1-3, Turn to zero, restarting after my new KJ Charles.....

This book is like an extended prologue. Setting things up, introducing characters, etc. I wish the additional information had been placed at the beginning, not the end, where it would have been easier to access.

Armise and Merq's relationship is a divisive one at best. I can't work either of them out.

Pretty captivating I think I've found myself a good one

I rather like this story, and can only hope Merq and Armise find some sort of peace and personal detente.
