I am still distracted by the characters' highly sophisticated thoughts that don't mesh with their probable education and the time period of writing. Inconsistent use of vernacular. Poor use of punctuation leaves me stumbling and re-reading at times. The story lacks appropriate detail of true warriors maintaining their skills/strength, as well as continuity. Minor characters are mentioned, forgotten and resurrected.

Story and action is a bit fantastical. Entertaining.
Inconsistency in the writing, especially conversation vacillating between Scottish vernacular and highly sophisticated English sentences.
English majors should avoid this author. The author's writing style is highly choppy at times. Clearly the book lacked an editor and proofreaders. Errors in word usage/spelling such as the use of to/too detract from flow.
