Wolverine got his own comic series and with the success of Dark Pheniox Marvel launched another X-man comic series along with a new Captain Marvel series and she would end up replacing the Wasp as leader of the Avengers.

Marvel Started creating graphic novels and they were to compete with European like books and they were mostly all made by the best creators in the company. They were a complete story instead of having a multi part comic series they did one story within the book.

The X-Men story called Days of Future Past was created in 1981 where Wolverine warned the X-Men from the past about the sentinels. Sentinels are robots that find and kill mutants. This was a very popular story and would even be made into a movie.

In the late 1980s marvel had the comic citizens want Captain America run for president and he turned it down after not wanting to have to do so much. The U-Foes were create and they have some stupid powers.

The X-Men series had its biggest known story about jean grey who had turned into the Pheniox and became uncontrolled and was dangerous and was needed to be stopped. Stan Lee accepted a bunch of movie projects about characters. One of these characters was made for a movie and she was called the Dazzler along with She Hulk being created.

Justin Hammer was introduced in 1979 to go against Iron Man and in the late 70s early 80s Marvel started to ship comics to comic book specific stores and even made series you could only get within the stores.

Mystique was introduced and Ms. Marvel got a new costume after being criticized. Devil Dinosaur was created as one of artist and writer Jack Kerby's last comic series. Marvel wanted to capitalize on the Hulk tv show so they created a new Hulk series.

marvel was allowing ads in there comics sometimes even putting them in the comics with the heroes to help get toy prices up. Mattel had a partnership and Marvel used several Mattel toy characters over a certain amount of time. Howard the Duck also turned into a human.

Howard the duck got framed and kick out of the race for president. Marvel also moved into more media spaces like comic strips for news papers and The Incredible Hulk got a movie and then after its success became a weekly tv show.

Going into 1975 Marvel made a new cast of mutants that joined the X-Men making the series more popular than The Amazing Spider-man at one point.
