Stan Lee accepted a bunch of movie projects about characters. One of these characters was made for a movie and she was called the Dazzler along with She Hulk being created.

Wolverine got his own comic series and with the success of Dark Pheniox Marvel launched another X-man comic series along with a new Captain Marvel series and she would end up replacing the Wasp as leader of the Avengers.

The X-Men story called Days of Future Past was created in 1981 where Wolverine warned the X-Men from the past about the sentinels. Sentinels are robots that find and kill mutants. This was a very popular story and would even be made into a movie.
