I’m so nervous for the conclusion of Giovanni’s longing heart.

The second story, Signal and Signal-less, was so naïvely, and beautifully romantic that I couldn’t help but wonder if this is what all the peasants who first watched and were smitten with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet must’ve felt. The plot was so simple, but what a genius story choice, to make to inanimate objects fall in love. I want to adapt this to short film.

The Nighthawk Star really shows how skilled Miyazawa is at writing. It was a fable in every way. I definitely enjoyed getting to read a new fable crafted so beautifully with fresh eyes. The emotion of the Nighthawk swept me away.

This makes me think I need to look up what a nighthawk looks like. So far, I’m enjoying the tone..

Finished to the two mini-stories that preface Night on the Galactic Railroad. Not sure how I feel about them. One is a fairly straightforward with it's meaning. The other one is drawing on some very specific cultural references that are lost on me even after having it explained. The prose is decent, but clearly some bits are lost in translation.
