Status Updates From Friendships Don't Just Happ...

Stop using “toxic” to describe people, especially friends. Toxic implies that growth or change isn’t pods. Who are we to judge in that way?

We’re called to be present for our friends in good choices and bad choices. Stemming from wearing clothes we don’t approve of, to marrying a man that isn’t good for her, or even lending money to someone we know likely won’t pay her back!

Deeper conversations lead to a more fulfilling and happy life. Say no to small talk!

“We have to show up when we commit!”

Treat relationships, new and old, with respect and show up when we commit. In order to build strong bonds with friends, we have to commit to getting to know them… even if we’re tired, anxious, or awkward. It’s hard to find out how awesome someone is if we don’t get through the initial stages bc we’re constantly flaking!

“The world needs way more people willing to give energy to initiating relationships!”

I know this is me. The initiator. Even still, I love this quote because sometimes it can feel a little too one sided and it’s a reminder that the world needs this regardless.

It’s not BFF or bust! You can be common friends with someone who doesn’t 100% align with you. Not close friends, but someone who might be friends within the confines of a common interest.
