I think that quote is going to be my every reaction with each passing chapter of this.

Hard to emotionally get into story...

Dolph says to Triss that he can tolerate him (jokingly, in response to an I love you). Reminded me of my brother - when the four of us are messaging and end with "I love you guys", and my sisters say the same, my brother inevitably says, "you're all tolerable". Jokingly of course...at least he'd better bloody be!

I love Dolph, and my heart aches for him.The word depression has not been used - yet every single one of those symptons is depression.This is some amazing writing, it's hard to believe it's a free piece of fiction and not a published book.

Oh God...please, please let my suspicions of where this is going be wrong. Please.

Not too far in and I already know I'm going to love this. The writing is brilliant and I love Dolph's voice. There is also nostalgia about this story that I can't quite put my finger on but it certainly resonates with me. Maybe it's nothing more than the Britishness of it, of the echoes of my own youth.
