Liking the characters so far

This overthinking back and forth is SO FUNNY HAHAHAHA idiots I love it

The disorganized style is giving me a headache but some part of me is really enjoying this romantic and heroic characterization of Henry’s paranoia and hyper vigilance lol

me, munching on popcorn and reading about Henry’s cunning “watcher”: yeah that’s right trust NO ONE you funky little exile

This is an historical romance which is not usually my cup of tea, but I do enjoy historic novels. The action takes place in the background of the War of the Roses which I know of only from Shakespeare's trilogy of plays ending with Richard III. So far, we have been following Henry's troubled childhood and early manhood which has already captured my attention.

I actually really got into it today and even got a bit misty eyed when a side character died cause he was charming.
Yay, I might leave this reading slump soon!

Picking this up again. It's still charmingly... old fashioned. Elizabeth Woodville is just so comically evil that I can't even be mad. Surprisingly like the portrayal of Henry VII. I expected him to be the ~*perfect*~ knight/future king, but he has flaws. Now, if the book wants me to think they're flaws is a whole other thing...

This might be...as of yet, the closest thing we have to a proper Henry VII X Elizabeth of York-OMG OTP!- Historical Tudor fiction and me likey :D

Margaret Beaufort is sure bucking for the mother of the year award, topped off with early sainthood.
