This guy has promise--the detail is exquisite. But the story is too fragmented, too parallel. It's hard to keep everything straight, what's happening in what locale.

Some improvement as I proceed. The beginning is a chaotic mess, but the story is settling down a bit now.

Too many locales, too many characters, too much busy busy busy going on. I have given up trying to keep it all straight.

This book is really holding my attention. You have to keep up with what is going on in both locations. I can't wait to find out how the prologue ties into the rest of the book.
