this wakeful heart is a lantern!!!

Mankind, like waterfowl, are sprung from the sea of the soul; how should the bird that has risen from that sea make its dwelling here?
Nay rather, we are pearls in that sea, we are all present therein;
else, why does wave upon wave surge from the sea of the heart?
The wave of Alast came along and caulked the body’s ship;
when the ship is wrecked once more, the turn of union and encounter will come.

this has been on my currently reading shelf since AUGUST 2022!!!! and I'm still only on page 166 so I'm removing it for the new year... lets see if I ever finish it

Quando lo specchio è puro di forme, riceve ogni forma,

E se un volto di ferro trova, a forbirlo, tanta purezza,
ché sarà mai del volto del Cuore che non sa polvere e ruggine?
