I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK.
It's so good, I may just make it my entire personality.

Not really enjoying this book, although I was when I started it. Kindle closed my book for me so maybe I'll like it better if I give it a rest for a while.

Happy that I've found where in Wimbledon Hilde Spiel lived, that my unfavourable feelings about Graham Greene are only strengthened by this book, and that my interest in Bowen and Macaulay continues. I'm also enjoying the sense of life in wartime neutral Ireland. I understand why they adopted neutrality, but ... still!

My interest is flagging a bit, so I will leave off for awhile and return later in September.
I agree with a GR friend that applying the fictional writings of these authors as direct accounts of their lives is a strange and unreliable historical method, even if it is enjoyable reading.
