Status Updates From The Laughter of Strangers

This is hardly a boxing novel anymore, but an allegory on men who fight. Michael Seidlinger is somewhat of a linguistic equilibrist.

I'm a terrible stickler for boxing novels. The Sweet Science is something very pure to me that I don't want romance to taint. Seidlinger does a good job at portraying it properly though. I love his disembodied style.

blown away by the focus and pacing of this book so far.

There's something cinematic in this book that belies its monologue form. It feels too easy to fall back on this, but I'm reminded of the opening credits of "Raging Bull" where we encounter De Niro's character alone in the ring, caught in the perennial grappling dance with the self. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXdvq1...

To live in a world is to build up a support network full of friends and family that have your back. Even if you forget to call.

I think I've seen too much as it is. I feel like I might forget how to breathe, that's how confused and blurred everything has become!

Note to self, I need to train more. There's often no time, what with all the booked events.

If I rearrange the letters of the name "WILLEM FLOURES," I get "Lowlife Lemurs," "Woeful Millers," and "Owl Slum Relief." At this point, it is unclear what bearing these anagrams may have on the novel's plot.
