Lifang is boring and annoying af.

The. dialogue. is. so. fucking. awkward. Kill me now.

Had so much hope going into this - a book about dragon-like creatures by a local writer?! Sign me up! This hope is rapidly dying ... withering ... being crushed beneath the inelegant story-telling and clumsy af telling-not-showing. But I'm preserving. Maybe it takes some time for the story to pick up and the rest of the book is totes worth it? Fingers crossed

I thought I'd like this. It's about a girl who rides an alien pterodactyl!

I gave up due to either an inexplicably avant-garde style, or a total lack of editing/proofing. Capitalization, punctuation, and formatting are wrong, missing, and/or inconsistent. I is sometimes capitalized, sometimes not. Etc.

I'm baffled by this. The same author's (good) urban fantasies (as J. Damask) don't have this problem.

Some of the stories are so fascinating that I've fallen in love with them already! One last piece to go. :)
