Still somewhat struggling. Not used to books with so much detail. Also seems a rip off of Stargate.

I’m struggling to read this book. It seemed interesting and the author provides in-depth descriptions of the environment, but as he’s probably Australian, he uses Aussie slang frequently. Book published in 2006 and I’m wondering if Aussies still use terms like blackfella and joke about dead Chinamen. At least he hasn’t called the main female a Sheila YET.
