I am pleased at how the misunderstanding was resolved, specially by whom it was solved. I like how all the storylines were brought to a full circle, no lose ends, no cliffhangers. 3.5☆☆☆

Enter the Earl of Mountdean. This is so predictable.

And so the title makes sense now. I hope in the end her real past comes out before it's too late for her not to remain a wife in name only.

Aha! Interesting second set of characters. I was wondering when Madeline's storyline would come into the story again. I assume her fairy God-step aunt is going to add some tragedy to her life.

Great intro and characters. Easy to follow and captivating plot. I hope this Cinderella-like story has a happy ending.

What an interesting beast this is. If you want a healthy dose of 19th century patriarchy and chauvinism, and sweetly trickling romanticism, this is just right. However, that aside, as a product of its time, it's pretty engrossing. Can't stand the main male character though. Called honorable and kind in this book, I only perceive him as a weak, deluded idiot. How the times have changed.

One of the main characters, Lord Arleigh, has gone from being a decent guy to a non-consenty douchebag. He doesn't take no for an answer and he just convinced someone to marry him. I liked this character but now I'm really annoyed at his conduct! Men!
