This is interesting.
I can't help but think some of the treatment of Charles I is due to his Scottish heritage. That Scots are less than seems to be accepted dogma in England. Add to that Charles is physically tiny, petulant, uncharismatic and I can see why Parliament takes him down.
I'm not a royalist ever but they just replace him with Cromwell and Lord Protector is another word for King🤷🏽♀️

Still not at the 1642 mark and I'm grateful that although this will primarily focus on England it's still giving a through run down of the events in Ireland and Scotland that ultimately set off the civil war
