Terrific. Gives me a better understanding of aspects of Zen. I need to read more, though, and practice.

Really good. Boy, do I need this practice at this point in my life. Intellectually, I've always understood what it meant. Feeling it and inhabiting it, not so good.

A koan is a kind of technology, a hack for the mind. It strips our opinions and views away. Unlike some other technologies, koans don't work in a linear fashion. They surprise you by transcending the terms on which you took them up. They draw you into a different way of seeing and experiencing your world.
