Wow,,,,,don’t you just love the way? That Emi’s and Maou’s relationship has changed so much since coming the Japan??? That theyre kinda friends (even tho Emi would never say)??? That in a slightly nightmarish dream Emi has,,,,,she feels relief at seeing Maou’s face??? Her former enemy??? Because I do

"This man who upholds the law, respects mankind, loves his career, and shows concern for the woman who wanted him dead is the King of All Demons and invader of Ente Isla. And that is exactly why Emilia and I have so much trouble with him."

I really like that in this series, angels and demons aren't like other worldly forces, but mortal beings (albeit with different life spans), but just like a different species of mortal beings

I know it's all for the comedy, but it *is* a little weird the Acieth keeps coming on to the guy who's the adoptive father of her older sister

She also kind of admits that she's fallen for him(!). Basically, she says that it would incur the wrath of Chiho, more as an aside to herself, after she and Maou have their confessional scene. @ the very least, her feelings have changed.
Maou was doing research on humans while his generals were off conquering. Fundamental diff is that humans have to eat, and demons just absorb energy. It's where he went wrong btw

The first half of the book is Emi's perspective, as we get a look back at how she ended up in Olba's hands, and what mysteries her parents were hiding from her. The next bit, from around 40 percent on, is spent on Maou and Suzuno's travel prep and then actual travels. Maou tells Suzuno why he conquered Ente Isla (human fear as a power source). Church confessional style.
