There are a few places where this book could have used some small edits to punctuation, etc. “Of the five fundamental tastes—bitterness—is the one most associated with tea infusions.” Had to read this sentence a couple times to make sense of it with those em dashes.

I didn’t know that caffeine significantly boosts the body’s absorption of Advil, or that eating brassicas like broccoli helps the liver clear out caffeine faster from your system—while foods like carrots and celery have the opposite effect.
