Status Updates From Boarding House

Si Matty the Macho. I know a couple of guys like this IRL

Misteryo at HapisDESERVE!!! TITA JOSIE TAMA YAN!!

Ang Mga Biyahe ni Virtus. That was so fucking dark what the fuck

O, Thiefmas Tree/ O, Thiefmas Tree. Best story in the book so far. Full of heart in the sincere way, humorous in that Pinoy self-deprecating way, set during a Filipino Christmas and features most of the cast built up in the earlier parts of the book

Interesting to see how a gay person asserts their rights in their personal lives back in the 90s/00s kopong kopong

Ang Boarding House. Includes a portrait of the impacts of substance abuse, which is from a third person who sees it happen as the slow ruin of a luxurious house. It was sad. I think the details paint v Filipino expressions of wealth: constant availability of food, paying for professional interior design, physical money being tucked into random places

Tao Po! Tao Po!. Super interesting start. The overview function of this as an intro, I appreciate, but I think there could have been a way to execute without making it jump around topics so eclectically? I am in awe of the author background and tenacity. She went through such a hard life, definitely the kind of person that I’d love to read about because their personal experiences were challenges overcame
