Michael barakiva made this book about him a true story about him and his life as a armenian and how he has very strict parents no matter what and a quote that stuck out to me was "You just don't get it don't you?" And it makes me think that his friend and Alek are in two different worlds when it comes to his parents and he has to choose to be free and listening to his parents.

Ethan saying he wanted to be Aleks boyfriend bc "he has a soft spot for Armenian people because he feels bad about the genocide" is fucking INSANE

Ethan's room just being covered in cutouts of men literally everywhere is so funny and like wtf it's like even though the author is gay he was possessed by a straight person who was like "how can I write the most unrealistic way to show that this teenager is gay" incredible
