Love this so far! Full of humor, references to delicious food, the Monkey King. The neutral tone throughout the book, even toward murders- they just happen when the snake deity needs to feed.

Already ensnared in the compelling protagonist, Su. The Legend of the White Snake was a childhood fave Chinese nivel. I always roored for her.

Really enjoying the magical realism and the exploration of their dynamic as "sisters" but I think maybe too much information about Singapore?
