A small section of the book presents a few Vermont characters that are not ghosts or ghouls:
There's a lot more to Cabot than cheese. There's Zera Colburn, the 6 year old mathematical savant who was born in 1804. Zera, with his father, toured the east coast big cities where Zera gave amazing demonstrations to packed auditoriums.

20 pages are devoted to 'Champ', Lake Champlain's own Loche Ness Monter, with over 300 documented sightings from 1609 to 1994 when this volume was published.

The ghosts abiding the Green Mountains are far superior to those Hunting the American Heartland......but I might be a little biased.
