ortlund writes very beautifully but i'm afraid just a bit above my level of education😭 his wording is very confusing in many chapters but im slowly making progress and doing research about church history simultaneously. very interesting to say the least.

I won’t lie I have put this book in the back burner for a bit… but I’m excited to get back into it as this is a very popular topic within my age group.

Just finished Ortlund's chapters on Apostolic Succession and Protestantism as Retrieval.
I love Gavin's treatment of history and I think his insight into history as an important authority that is fallible has been really thought provoking and helpful.
Onto the Assumption of Mary and Icons chapters!!!
