This is how the MC and his partner talk about the partner's wife, the *only* woman in the novel: "That she would marry some creep just to annoy me. And that guy would be living in the same house with my kids. He could fuck with Juan’s head, and do God knows what to Martie.” ...“She could get married again.” “She will,” Gabriel promised. “Just to prove that she’s still beautiful and desirable."

Halp! Misogyny is not subsiding in the least. Such a pity.

Loving it so much, until the only woman featured emerges & she's not nice to say the least. Why? Why is misogyny a pre-req in M/M? I'll keep reading, and really hope I spoke too soon.

Very mild romance, with little angst or pain, but plenty of contemplation between John and Gabriel. .While it's set in my hometown and at UNM, Ms. Black has lost points for lack of atmosphere (where's Sandia Peak in the background?) and knowledge of the campus (she mentions cool green grass but not the duck pond). .Downtown is nowhere near as garish at night as she makes it seem.

I am enjoying this book so far but if I was playing a drinking game where I took a drink every time I read the words led, lead, leader, leading, leadership, you get the idea, I am pretty sure I would be a drunk girl right now.
