I finished book 1, and I spent more time writing notes about what the author is getting wrong than time actually reading the book. No real detective would leave a "wake" for the murder victim to invite the main suspect of the investigation to dinner then kiss her passionately in the parking lot. He would be fired and brought up on charges. I hope the remaining books in the bundle are better than this train wreck.
