Oh my goodness! The biblical allegory in this story is amazing. The story of the gospels in the vehicle of fantasy.🥹

This book 😭 It's such a beautiful portrayal of Jesus' love... only within a fantasy story. Just amazing.

“… in the beginning, the Carver had painted the world He’d fashioned with a vast array of colors. Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of colors. He reserved the most stirring hues for grass and sky and ocean, and the more extravagant ones for the creatures that roamed them.”

Didn’t think it was possible to feel sympathy for Uriah… the author has proved me wrong! Such a great villain.

The only complaint I have about this (and the first) book is the number of times the author has referred to Sela’s “overly tight stays.” I get it. Her stays are tight. OVERLY tight. 😅
